Outcomes

By the end of this certificate, students will…

  1. Identify the instrumentation and measurement techniques available for biomechanical analysis, including accelerometry and inertial measurement units and apply this instrumentation for various types of study design.
  2. Conceptually understand how to calculate kinematics, joint moments, forces, based on sample data provided and with an introduction to statistical modeling.
  3. Set up and utilized 3D motion capture and force places, including surface electromyography, to collect biomechanical data
  4. Demonstrate the procedure for measurement of anatomical structures, such as muscle girth and tendon length with use of diagnostic ultrasound and experts on the literature where ultrasound is utilized through the process of systematic review.
