BEHL 240 Social Justice and Advocacy in Behavioral Health
This course gives students the understanding of social justice and empowers them to identify strategies to become advocates in the behavioral health field.

- Develop an understanding of the concept of social justice and its importance in society
- Recognize and analyze social justice issues, including, but not limited to, issues related to race, gender, class, sexual orientation
- Understand intersectionality and how identity impacts experiences of injustice and privilege
- Define advocacy and its role in creating change
- Develop strategies for promoting inclusivity and equity in behavioral health settings
- Explore different forms of social justice activism and advocacy related to behavioral health
