BIOL 446 Biology Seminar II

This course is designed to complete the process begun in Biology 445.  Students will complete the literature search and paper, prepare and present a poster at the annual UJ Student Research Symposium, and give an oral presentation to the campus community on the topic chosen. Required of all majors.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Upon completion of the course the student should have: submitted a written paper of no less than 3,000 words on the topic chosen.
  2. Given an oral presentation on the topic chosen.
  3. Prepared a poster presentation of their topic.
  4. Developed skills in writing a research/review paper in the biological sciences.
  5. Developed skills in oral presentation of a topic in the biological sciences.
  6. Completed an exit interview and/or evaluation of the Biology Major Program.
  7. Taken a national standardized examination in biology (MFT), the results of which will be used in the assessment of the education provided by the department.
