BUSN 206 Agricultural Perspectives

This course serves as an introduction to agriculture. It examines basic financial statement generation and analysis, capital management, financial ratios, and financial cycles with a perspective unique to agriculture. It will explore the evolution and current state of agriculture in a global environment.

  1. The students will have a basic understanding of financial statements.
  2. The students will have a basic understanding of the unique aspects of agricultural finances.
  3. The students will have a basic understanding of agricultural production and financial cycles.
  4. The students will have a basic understanding of capital management, including entity structures, budgeting, costs of capital and tax management.
  5. The students will have a basic understanding of the global development of agriculture and its impact on food production and the environment.
  6. The students will be able to demonstrate the application of financial ratios. How they are used to assess risk, measure performance and influence capital management.
