  1. Understand the basic principles of structural behavior
  2. Design simple concrete members using ACI 318 ultimate design strength method
  3. Analyze and design reinforced concrete beams for flexure and shear
  4. Analyze and design reinforced concrete columns
  5. Analyze and design reinforced concrete slabs
  6. Analyze and design reinforced concrete footings
  7. Apply relevant ACI Code provisions to ensure safety and serviceability of structural elements
  8. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  9. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
