DIG 338 Productive Photography

Students will learn the fundamentals of photography, including composition, lighting, exposure, and editing. This class will also focus on using photography in different careers with lessons in portraiture, product photography, photojournalism, videography, and other skills.

  1. Students will be able to operate cameras and related equipment confidently, utilizing fundamental principles of exposure, lighting, and composition to create impactful images.
  2. Learners will apply the rules of composition and manipulate light sources (both natural and artificial) to enhance the visual appeal and narrative of their photographs.
  3. Participants will become proficient in software-based editing, refining images for clarity, color balance, and style while maintaining ethical standards in image manipulation.
  4. Through practice in portraiture, product photography, photojournalism, and videography, students will demonstrate how core photographic principles can be adapted to diverse professional contexts.
