EESC 220 Environmental Science Field Skills

This course guides students through the process of identifying, and preparing and applying for internships and/or jobs as well as graduate school opportunities while giving them core competencies valued by employers. Students will become competent in orienteering with a compass and map, as well as a handheld GPS unit and receive an overview of surveying. This course will provide the North American model for sustainable harvest and students will acquire first aid and CPR skills. Students will become proficient with identifying peer-reviewed journals and will review articles in those journals. Students will develop presentation skills, a resume, a cover letter, participate in mock interviews and job fairs and finally, develop a research proposal.
