HIST 302 Selected Readings and Topics in Non-U.S. Studies
Individually directed and structured readings or topics in non-U.S. history. With the department chair's permission, this course can be repeated once if the topics differ sufficiently.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Informational: Students should learn about the historical event of the holocaust as well as its interpretation in subsequent theology, philosophy, cinema, and culture.
- Cognitive: Students should develop critical thinking skills, as well as intellectual patience and humility in the face of deeply ambiguous and/or unanswerable questions.
- Existential: Students should develop empathy and listening abilities in engaging with narratives of suffering, while deepening their own understanding of, and relation to, theodicy.
