An examination of significant philosophy between 1400 and 1900 C.E., such as that of the Scottish Enlightenment, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Mary Astell.

  1. Students will seriously consider the writings of Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Sartre, Camus, and de Beauvoir.
  2. Students will use the tools of Existentialism upon themselves.
  3. Students will face the subjectivity of meaning and the inevitability of death.
