THEA 190 Introduction to Theatre
Introductory course in understanding and appreciation of the theatre arts designed to assist the beginning playgoer and to serve as a background for all formal theater courses. Open to students at any level.

- Develop a basic knowledge in the assorted genres of theatrical art.
- Become familiar with the historical development of the art.
- Experience play production from the angle of the performer.
- Understand the contributions of influential playwrights, performers, and other artists.
- Gain firsthand experience and knowledge in the technical elements of theatre.
- Create an original script for possible production.
