CRES 991 Thesis II

Thesis II is a 3 credit 8-week course of advised research from an expert in the field of interest of the student. Students will complete a timeline for progression through their doctoral work and a constitution document that will define the expectations of the advisor and student throughout the process. Thesis projects will involve formation of data collection, analysis, discussion, and conclusions under the direction of an advisor.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. 1. Formulate dissertation research question with confirmation of their dissertation advisor and committee members.
  2. 2. Summarize the relevant literature in their area of interest and why their research question addresses this gap.
  3. 3. Write the full introduction, literature review and methodology sections of their doctoral theses.
  4. 4. Attain IRB approval (if not already completed).
  5. 5. Begin data collection with approval of their advisor.
