CJ 420 Criminal Justice Capstone
This course provides a summary overview of the full range of criminal justice topics and issues, akin to the basic overview provided in the introductory course (CJ 101), but at an advanced level that features the use of primary resources, student research, and a critical analysis of issues and controversies in the field, all in a seminar setting.

- Students will critically assess the current state of the criminal justice system by examining the conservative and liberal responses to crime in America
- Students will identify evidence-based practices in the profession. Students will learn how to use research in future careers to develop policy
- Students will prepare for future careers by creating a resume and cover letter
- Students will research policy issues in their chosen field and create a formal report and professional presentation based on their findings
