EESC 481 Ornithology Field Methods - BBL Banding Station
Students will assist in all aspects of a long running banding station in Stonewall, MB or similar, approved by BBL, USFWS and CWS. Prerequisite or Corequisite: EESC 484. Field practicum will occur in Spring (May-June), Summer or Fall (Aug-Sept), may be repeated

Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will become familiar with all aspects of banding passerines including the code of ethics and discussing banding with the public.
- Students will be familiar with identification of common passerines caught in mist nets.
- Students will learn mist net extraction methods.
- Students will gain experience in placement, band correction, recording and reporting involved in bird banding.
