Student Learning Outcomes
- To develop student's ability to generate effectively a number of technical and professional documents, regardless of their disciplines or eventual professional careers
- To further develop students' ability to plan, develop, and conduct research projects and to present the consequent research reports
- To have students learn to express themselves concisely, precisely, and cogently, and, accordingly
- To have students learn to revise their work to achieve those ends
- To have students learn to use a variety of objective and persuasive writing techniques and formats at will and as appropriate
- To have students learn to document use of others' materials (sources) in accordance with accepted professional standards and conventions of publishing in their disciplines as indicated by scientific, scholarly, or professional journals and by style sheets or guides promulgated by relevant professional organizations
- To have students learn to use library, Internet, and other resources efficiently
