ENGL 414 Multimodal Composition

Study of multimodality and digital composition, and the application of multimodal composition strategies in practice. Course includes substantial research and writing components and the creation of an original multimodal text.

English education majors please note: ENGL 314 and ENGL 414 do not need to be taken sequentially.

Outcomes

  1. Critically engage in rhetorical and design analysis of multimodal texts produced for specific audiences and purposes
  2. Identify and utilize the five modalities of multimodal composition
  3. Produce complex multimodal work that demonstrates awareness of audience, context, and stakes
  4. Collaborate with other stake holders (peers, the instructor, librarians) to create critique, and revise multimodal texts
  5. Integrate and document both primary and secondary sources using an accepted citation style (APA or MLA)
