A study of exponents, radicals, linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, polynomials, rational functions, logarithms, and graphing.

Two years of high school algebra or college equivalent; Placement exam required or a grade of C- or higher in MATH 102

  1. Solve linear and quadratic equations and inequalities.
  2. Solve systems of equations.
  3. Solve equations containing absolute values, rational expressions, and radicals.
  4. Sketch graphs of linear, quadratic functions, polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic functions.
  5. Simplify and factor algebraic expressions.
  6. Know and apply properties of exponents, polynomials, rational expressions, radicals, complex numbers, and rational expressions.
  7. Utilize mathematical reasoning to solve problems.
