Student Learning Outcomes

  1. State and explain the components of a mathematical system.
  2. Use a compass and straightedge to construct geometric objects.
  3. Critique and write geometric proofs related to parallel lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, similar triangles, and circles.
  4. Explain the fundamental difference between Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries; and
  5. Derive the basic formulas for the areas of polygons and circles.
