Tobacco-Free Campus
In the interest of promoting a healthy, substance-free environment on the UJ campus, and the proven risks associated with exposure to secondhand smoke, UJ is a tobacco-free campus: The use of tobacco in any form including but not limited to electronic e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, and hookahs, are prohibited on all university properties, with the exception of personal vehicles only. If a student is found responsible for using tobacco on-campus or at a university sponsored event they will be accountable for sanctions outlined in the UJ Standards of Conduct.
For the purpose of this policy, “smoking” is defined as inhaling, exhaling, burning, or carrying any lighted or heated cigar, cigarette, pipe, or any other lighted or heated tobacco or plant product intended for inhalation in any manner or in any form. Smoking also includes the use of an e-cigarette which creates a vapor in any manner or any form, or the use of any oral smoking device for the purpose of circumventing the prohibition of smoking in this Policy.
