III. Notice of Nondiscrimination
Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 (“Title IX”) prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in programs and activities by colleges that receive Federal financial assistance. Sex discrimination includes sexual harassment (which includes an employee conditioning the provision of an aid, benefit, or service of University of Jamestown on an individual’s participation in unwelcome sexual conduct; unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive that it effectively denies a person equal access to University of Jamestown’s education programs or activities; or sexual assault as defined in 20 U.S.C. 1092 (f)(6)(A)(v), dating violence as defined in 34 U.S.C. 12291(a)(10), domestic violence as defined in 34 U.S.C. 12291(a)(8), or stalking as defined in 34 U.S.C. 12291(a)(30).). The University of Jamestown complies with Title IX and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, gender identity or gender expression in its education programs or activities, admissions, or employment. University of Jamestown will not tolerate sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, or sexually inappropriate conduct in any form. Other acts can also be forms of sex or gender-based discrimination and are also prohibited whether sexually based or not, including dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
