EDUC 201 Introduction to Teaching
This is an early course in education for the pre-service prospective teacher. History and philosophy of American education are surveyed. Course requirements include field experience in an accredited public or private classroom.

- Understand interpersonal relations and group dynamics present in the field of education.
- Investigate effective teaching research-curriculum, motivation, management, differentiation, ethics, and other educational issues.
- Analyze various sociological dimensions influencing schooling, including race/ethnicity, class, and gender.
- Work cooperatively in small and large groups to apply your knowledge of educational issues and current events.
- Research and define various theories on philosophies of education and develop your own philosophy of education.
- Investigate curriculum and instructional resources.
