NRSG 424 Child/Adult Health III
The course focuses on the nursing care of clients and families experiencing multiple problems or striving to maintain or regain optimal health within the context of a variety of cultures. The physical systems covered are the cardiovascular and neurological. Selected nursing care situations require the student to synthesize knowledge from previous nursing courses, supportive courses and evidence-based scholarly materials while using the nursing process as a framework to provide nursing care. Learning takes place in a variety of settings: classroom, college laboratory, Sanford Health.

- Synthesize knowledge from previous experiences and courses to formulate a comprehensive interrelatedness of system functions and their effect on the client/family/community within the context of a variety of cultures.
- Utilize the nursing process within the health care delivery system in the nursing management of the client/family/community exhibiting multi-problem needs of the cardiovascular and/or neurological systems.
- Incorporate knowledge of developmental patterns of the client/family throughout the life cycle when providing nursing care.
- Collaborate with other health team members to promote, maintain, and restore the client/family/community to an optimum level of health.
- Identify his/her need to assume responsibility for self-direction in personal and professional growth as a future member of the health care delivery system within society.
- Use evidence-based practice guidelines in developing a plan of care and providing safe nursing care for the client/family.
