Outcomes

  1. Students will gain an understanding of the historical evolution of integrated Europe.
  2. Students will gain an understanding of the structure and processes of the contemporary European Union.
  3. Students will gain an understanding of the complexities and difficulties of collective European governance in a system of semi-sovereign states.
  4. Students will gain an appreciation of the unique nature of and challenges in the politics of integrated Europe.
  5. If the research paper option is chosen, students will develop research, writing, and critical thinking skills through an in-depth exploration of an issue of contemporary European Union concern.
