PATH 578 Human Microanatomy

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the microscopic structure and organization of human tissues and organs in the normal state, comparing the histopathologic changes in common disease states.

  1. 1. Identify and describe the structural characteristics of cell types and tissues microscopically, with associated common abnormalities and malignancies.
  2. 2. Correlate molecular biomarkers with histologically recognized malignancies.
  3. 3. Develop and demonstrate a basic proficiency in using histological techniques and interpreting microscopic images.
  4. 4. Recall and integrate the processes of tissue development, repair, and pathology at the microscopic level.
