BUSN 307 Agricultural Finance

This course examines financial statement generation and analysis, capital management, financial ratios, and financial cycles with a perspective unique to agriculture.

Outcomes

  1. The students will understand financial statements.
  2. The students will understand the unique aspects of agricultural finances.
  3. The students will understand agricultural production and financial cycles.
  4. The students will understand capital management, including entity structures, budgeting, costs of capital and tax management.
  5. The students will be able to demonstrate the application of financial ratios. How they are used to assess risk, measure performance and influence capital management.
  6. The students will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop a business plan including a break-even analysis and a marketing plan.
