EDUC 314 Creative Arts in the Classroom
An exploration of the stages of growth in children's artistic development as it applies to the elementary classroom, including direct experiences with methods and materials in art, music, creative drama, and movement education. State standards will be addressed.

- Reflect on personal experiences with the arts and how to incorporate the teaching of the arts in elementary and middle level settings.
- Experience a wide variety of arts activities to build confidence in basic concepts of the arts.
- Recognize the artistic development of children as an essential ingredient in instructional planning.
- Develo art-infused teaching activities for early childhood, upper elementary, and middle level learners.
- Perceive and respond to aesthetic quality and merit of works of art.
- Discuss standards-based curriculum development to create a lesson plan that aligns standards, learning objectives, and assessment.
