EDUC 343 Children's Literature and Reading Across the Curriculum

Introduces prospective elementary teachers to the field of children's literature and explores a variety of approaches, including reading-based literature and reading strategies and methods across the curriculum for appropriate use in an elementary classroom.

  6. Explore ways to engage children with literature for both personal and academic purposes; generate a variety of approaches for introducing and experiencing children's literature in the classroom (InTASC 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
  7. Use the children's library and web sites to locate books for a variety of experiences and sharing. (InTASC 2, 4, 5, 7)
