PSYC 330 Health Psychology
The purpose of this course is to explore a variety of health-related issues from a biopsychosocial model. Some of the topics to be covered include health behavior and prevention, stress and coping, management of chronic illness, cardiovascular disease, psychoneuroimmunology, and patient-practitioner relationships.

- Understand the purpose of Health Psychology and why it is important to health.
- Identify the different components that make up Health Psychology.
- Learn the psychological/biological/sociological factors that contribute to the onset of disease and the role of psychology in the treatment and prevention of disease.
- Learn and understand the nature of the stress response and its impact in the etiology and course of many health problems.
