KNS 452 Senior Seminar in Exercise Science

This capstone course is designed to prepare students for their professional life. Students will practice the practical fitness assessment skills and the fundamental knowledge required to pass the exam. Mock HFS exam will be taken.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Utilize critical thinking skills to conduct research and write an in depth paper with a thesis statement, review of literature, and bibliography. Research paper must include at least 10 articles that either provide explanatory and descriptive information or directly support the thesis statement. Resources must be used appropriately and correctly cited in the research paper.
  2. Create a concise Poster Board presentation that reflects information gained from research project and present to the class / kinesiology students.
  3. Understand the ethical issues in related fitness/ health professions and current legal issues confronted in fitness. Understand basic EKG readings including: 12 lead ECG and NSR, ST, SB, PAC, PVC, aFib, V Tach, Vfib.
  4. Optional: Prepare for career or grad school: job search, resume, Experience Mock Interviews.
