MUS 266 Introduction to Conducting
This course is designed to introduce students to the art of choral/instrumental conducting. Students will gain basic conducting skills, and an understanding of how they may be appropriately applied.

- Demonstrate appropriate body posture, arm, hand, and wrist movements which communicate clear and expressive musical intentions.
- Execute gestures indicating desired tempo, dynamics, and articulation.
- Conduct regular and irregular beat patterns.
- Develop independence of hands
- Introduction to score analysis
- Explore effective communication techniques from the podium.
