BUSN 451 Senior Financial Planning Colloquium

This is a capstone course that involves a comprehensive integration of the principles and concepts developed in the other courses comprising the financial planning curricula. Students will engage in a simulation in which they assume the role of financial planners who develop a comprehensive written financial plan for a client. Prerequisites or corequisites: BUSN 305, BUSN 310, BUSN 440, BUSN 450, and graduating senior.

  1. Exhibit a thorough understanding of the content found within the Financial Planning & Wealth Management curriculum and successfully incorporate this information into the formation of a financial plan
  2. Gather all significant qualitative and quantitative information required to formulate a financial plan
  3. Analyze personal financial situations, evaluating clients' objectives, needs, and values to develop an appropriate strategy within the financial plan
  4. Display logic and reasoning in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches to reach a specific goal
