  1. Understand the history of banking regulation, with an emphasis on the global financial crisis.
  2. Explain how safety nets increase bank’s incentive to take on risks.
  3. Understand the concepts in inherent risks and residual risk, and the how it applies to bank risk tolerance.
  4. Understand the four pillars of bank regulation, and their associated regulator expectations for internal governance.
  5. Gain an understanding of the financial consumer protection regulation.
