KNS 220 Pickleball
The game of pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong that is played both indoors and outdoors. Students will learn the fundamental skills, rules, and strategies of the game.
Outcomes
- Develop, appreciate, and commit to meaningful physical activity across their lifespan.
- Demonstrate the basic pickleball grips: backhand, continental, and eastern forehand.
- Demonstrate critical elements for the forehand and backhand groundstrokes, volley, smash, and serve.
- Select and execute a shot based on the location of the opponent in order to hit the ball into open space.
- Demonstrate understanding of the rules of the game while participating in doubles gameplay.
- Demonstrate game strategy with their partner while participating in doubles gameplay.
