KNS 259 Theory of Coaching Volleyball

An in-depth study of the history, foundations, theory, techniques, principles, strategies, and practical applications relating to interscholastic and intercollegiate volleyball.

  1. Learn basic volleyball skills and techniques to teach them.
  2. Determine offensive and defensive strategies to fit team needs.
  3. Prepare drills and practice plans for a variety of levels of players.
  4. Develop a philosophy for coaching volleyball.
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of volleyball rules and officials signals.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to toss balls, hit balls, or feed balls to players in a manner that creates effective and appropriate drills.
  7. Demonstrate an understanding of the skill sets required for different positions.
