KNS 263 High School Activities and Materials
This course will provide instruction of various fundamental movements for high school students. Students will be exposed to lifetime activities and personal fitness.

- Demonstrate competency in 6/8 fundamental motor skills covered in this course [Individual-Dual Sports] (SHAPE 2a).
- Uses a variety of instructional strategies to assist the learners in developing competency (InTASC 8a, c, d).
- Using motion analysis software, analyze & correct oneself or others for critical elements of motor skills and performance concepts.
- Develop and apply performance assessments to be used in the analysis of fundamental motor skills from a variety of lifetime activities.
- Develop a portfolio of teaching materials such as task cards, fact sheets, and progressions of activities for a variety of lifetime activities.
- Describe and apply physiological and biomechanical concepts related to skillful movement for high school students (SHAPE 1c).
- Describe and apply motor learning and behavior-change/psychological principles related to skillful movement for high school students. (SHAPE 1d).
- Describe and apply motor development theory and principles related to fundamental motor skills, and skillful movement for high school students (SHAPE 1e).
- Understands how learners grow and develop and designs appropriate and challenging learning experiences (InTASC 1b, d, g).
- Uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures to ensure inclusive learning environments (InTASC 2a, c, g, m).
- Develops a strong understanding of necessary content knowledge and creates meaningful learning experiences for the learners (InTASC 4b, e, g, k).
- Uses informal and formal assessment to monitor learner development and progress that guides teacher's decision making (InTASC 6c, s.)
- Plans developmentally appropriate instruction that supports all learners lesson goals (InTASC 7a, c, d, g, k).
